What are your favorite modern horror movies?

Ana asked:
I want a movie made after 1990-ish that’s not supernatural-related and is just a really good horror movie. I’ve seen Halloween and Saw. They were pretty good but not the best. My all-time favorite horror movies are the three Scream movies, and The Last House on the Left.

Movies similar to those? Suggestions? Thanks!

If you are looking for films based more on the “whodunit” element than the supernatural, I would recommend the first two ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ movies based on your interest in ‘Scream’.

Trick R’ Treat!!!! Buy this movie it’s great. (Go to youtube and type “Season’s greetings” it’s a prequel of sort. It’s a cool cartoon.
Let the Right one IN
30 Days of Night (great sound though, you need great sound watch 30 days of night prequels- 1) Blood Trails 2) Dust to Dust on youtube as well. They’re like 7 2minute clips each.
I liked all the Halloween and Friday the 13th’s (besides Jason X)
Day of the Dead’s on tv now.

Orphan. I didn’t expect to like it but it was very good, the little girl is a very talented young actress, she excels in being creepy. It’s very disturbing and messed up. I was squirming like crazy, it had some very intense moments and it is one of the best modern horror films.
