If it turned out poorly, I could reshoot. But the way each camera does this is radically different. Get some decent mics, not the cheapies. A Sennheiser ME66, or an AudioTechnika 835b, is midlevel, not terribly expensive, and really works well. The playing field has been leveled in terms of technology, but you still need a creative story to get anywhere on the film festival circuit.
